Welcome to Wild Rose Ranch!

Our goal at Wild Rose Ranch is to bring you 100% grass fed and grass finished beef of the highest quality !

I grew up on a hobby farm where we had all kinds of animals, anything from cows and horses , to cats and chickens. I've always loved being around cows and horses especially and always dreamed of having a cattle ranch of my own !

I bought the farm in the summer of 2019 with the vision of starting a beef herd of my own and selling 100% grass fed beef that's born, raised, and finished under our care ! My main focus is having satisfied customers that can trust that the meat they are getting is 100% grass fed and raised in a low pressure, friendly, healthy environment , without the use of added growth hormones and antibiotics . I bought some black angus cows, which do really well on a grass fed diet, and are very easy keeping, and winter hardy for our cold northern winters .

The calves are born from May to July when grass growth is at it's peak. They stay with their mothers till March of the next year . By that time they are basically naturally weaned. We feel keeping them with the cows till spring vs.( weaning in the fall like most people do) gives them extra growth and health through the cold winter months . After weaning when the grass turns green the calves get turned out into our best pastures where we intensively graze them all summer . This means they get moved to a fresh paddock of grass every day, while the paddock they just left gets a rest period for up to 30 days . This gives the grass time to grow back lush and green before the cattle again come to graze it .

We regularly use horses for moving and sorting our cattle and find it much more stress-free because of the way cattle naturally respect horses. It keeps the cattle much calmer than trying to work them on foot . 

At 18 - 24 months of age these steers have reached the desired weight and are ready to process and package for your freezer ! 

All our beef gets butchered at the local butcher shop ( Belle Vallee Meats and Abattoir) we are extremely happy with their quality cutting and wrapping .
